At Pirate Journey we keep things small, personal, and real. We don’t chase mass tourism. We don’t run giant factory-style trips. We focus on raw, authentic experiences across Indonesia. That means real islands, real people, real culture, and adventures you’ll remember for life.
Our mission is simple: deliver trips that feel free, immersive, and a little wild. The kind of journeys pirates would brag about. Every route we design is shaped by local knowledge, years spent exploring, and real boots-on-the-ground experience.
We’re here to guide you through Labuan Bajo, Alor, Raja Ampat and beyond in a way that feels genuine, human, and unforgettable.
It Started With a Small Island...
We found each other on a tiny slice of paradise called Gili Air. Life was simple and perfect in its own raw way — barefoot walks to work, ocean breeze as our alarm clock, friendships made over bonfires and sunsets that looked different every damn day. Running a restaurant on the beach wasn’t just business, it was our front row seat to the world passing by. Travelers from every corner shared their stories, philosophies, heartbreaks, and dreams, and every conversation made the island feel bigger than it looked on the map. In the middle of that paradise, we also took part in establishing Gili Cares, a small step toward caring for the place that gave us so much. That chapter taught us that paradise is not only something you enjoy, but something you respect and protect if you want it to remain unforgettable.
We stretched our curiosity across Lombok and documented it through The Lostboys channel on YouTube. Being behind the camera changed how we experienced travel; every destination became a story, every face a character, and every journey a narrative waiting to unfold. Collaborations with creators and brands opened new doors, showing us the influence that media had in inspiring people to explore. When The Lostboys Travel began, we turned those stories into real experiences for others, guiding travelers through mountains, remote beaches, and hidden corners. There was something special in watching people rediscover wonder in places that once felt unreachable. That era shaped how we design experiences with balance — freedom mixed with guidance, adventure mixed with ease.
Arrived with Covid pressing pause on the world. Borders shut, plans froze, and suddenly the road was no longer open. We shifted into The Lostboys Studios, focusing on content production that took us across Indonesia for video projects. Working with hundreds of channels and brands including Wonderful Indonesia pushed our creativity and sharpened our standard of professionalism. The digital world became our highway and storytelling became our passport. It was during this period that we learned — the way people see a destination begins long before they arrive, and trust is built long before they book.
With every chapter layered on the next — the simple life on an island, the road trips, the campfires, the cameras, the collaborations, the challenges and the breakthroughs — the vision became clear. Pirate Journey is the evolution of those experiences, shaped by sustainability, storytelling, trust, and the desire for meaningful travel. It’s not just a company; it’s the result of everything we lived and everything we learned on the way. Each moment, each mistake, each smile from a traveler, each shot captured at sunrise — they were all pieces of the map that brought us here.
